Orange Grapefruit Fizz

Christmas Eve is tomorrow and if you are a last minute kinda gal like me, you are still
tying up loose ends to get ready for the celebrations! Every year we make a delicious
brunch on Christmas morning and naturally I wanted to step up my game this year!

So….I'm back with another fun, super easy and delicious mocktail with LaCroix!
This is a very refreshing drink that would be perfect at any brunch and is perfect for the holidays.

What you need
Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
Strawberry Puree
Pamplemousse LaCroix
Fresh Strawberry

This drink is super simple to make. You are basically just going to layer everything.
First, start by pouring strawberry puree on the bottom of the glass. I made my own and
blended fresh strawberries with a tad of orange juice to help achieve the perfect consistency, you want the puree to be somewhat thick. Next, pour your orange juice about half way into the glass. Top off with the pamplemousse LaCroix sparkling water, add a strawberry and sip away!

Check out the "how-to" video on how to make it below:

Dipping into the Fountain

You might have seen me post about this light therapy device on my instagram.
And I know what you're thinking….Light therapy? But really it's more like bright therapy!
It's definitely tough to find a good pIck-me-up for your skin when you suffer from dullness or
sunspots here in sunny LA. I'm a working mom who is constantly on the go, so as much as I
would love to dedicate tons of time on complicated daily skincare rituals, it's just not in the
cards for me.

Let me just say that I've been using this Revive Light Therapy anti-aging essential device
3 minutes per area on my face everyday, and it has been so easy! Can we say, hello
brighter more even skin tone? Literally may be one of the best accessories
 I've found yet!

Oh and one more little secret….
I'm giving one more away for the holidays! Head over to my
instagram @frankiefashion and comment on my last picture
for a chance to win!

DIY: Studded Pumpkin

I love getting creative for the holiday's especially with my tablescapes! This was such a fun project to do and literally took about 20 minutes once I had all my supplies ready to go.

 What You Need
1 Small Pumpkin (scraped and clean)
100 gold studs (quantity will depend on size of pumpkin)
1 block floral foam, soaked in water
1 gallon size ziplock back (cut seal off)
Flowers of your choice
3 tangerines
3 wooden skewers
Scissors & Garden Clippers

The first thing you will want to do is cut and scrape your pumpkin clean! Make sure you cut the opening big enough to fit the floral foam. Now you can start making your stripes with the studs. My pumpkin had ridges in it so I followed the lines all the way down.

Once you have that done it's time to get to work!
Take your gallon ziplock bag, cut the seal off of the top and the line the inside of the pumpkin with the bag. Once the foam has been completely soaked in water place it vertically into the bag and press down. You will end up with a good amount of foam sticking out of the pumpkin. Take a knife and cut the excess off the top.

Place the filler/greenery along the bottom and then start adding in your flowers. The last step will be to add your tangerines to fill in any holes you might have!

Voila!

Island Pendant Lighting

1  //  2  //  3  //  4  //  5  //  6

After 3 contractors, months of planning and a million inspiration pictures later,
we have FINALLY started work on the house! Actually can't believe that its real.
For so long its been like the little engine that could...n't get started. Pretty amazing
how hard it is to find a good AND reliable. Sometimes it seems that you can only
have one or the other. But the good news is here we are and I can't wait to see our
vision come to life!

Since I have island lighting on the brain, here's a roundup of 3 of my favorite styles!

Crostini Night

If you're anything like me, coming up with things to make for dinner night after night gets old and can be such a daunting task! I get tired of making and eating the same few staple dishes every week. It almost makes you disenchanted with food altogether! Ok, maybe that's a little dramatic…you know I don't skip any meals! So on those nights where I don't feel like cooking a whole meal and just want something easy, we usually do wine, cheese and charcuterie. HOWEVER, I decided to switch things up a bit a do a fun night of crostini's!

It's actually a really fun date night idea…I highly recommend it.

Here are the 7 Crostini's
Smoked Salmon, Ricotta + Scallions
Caprese with Balsamic Glaze
Fig Jam + Brie
Goat Cheese, Walnuts + Honey Drizzle
Ricotta, Radish + Chive
Ricotta, Cucumber, Sea Salt + Chive
Goat Cheese, Tomato + Pesto

I sprinkled some sea salt to add a little extra flavor! The fun part about making crostini's is that you can really try so many different combinations and have fun with it. Just start with a delicious baguette, slice it and then toast the bread in the oven until it gets toasted and crispy.

Happy eating!

Vintage Indigo Batik Fabric

1  //  2  //  3  //  4  //  5

I've become obsessed with vintage indigo batik fabric ever since my interior designer, Kirsten Marie, introduced me to it! Ever since then, I've been seeing it pop up everywhere and I'm collecting so much inspiration for our remodel. There are tons of fabric options on Etsy that you can use to cover chairs and ottomans and so much more!

10-MINUTE AHI POKE TACOS

As much as I love to cook for my family every night, sometimes there's just not enough time to make a full on meal from scratch. And to be honest, most of the time by 4:00pm exhaustion from the day has set in and we are way too tired to go out to eat!  I know, I know I've officially turned into a nana (also known as a parent to a toddler).

Behind the Scenes with Simon G. & Marie Claire

Last week I had the pleasure of attending an absolutely STUNNING (the pic speaks for itself obviously!) luncheon with Simon G. Jewelry and Marie Claire. Food and Diamonds? How could I resist! I got to take a special tour of the Simon G headquarters to really see the process of what goes into making fine jewelry. It was fascinating!

Inspired by: Gold Accents

 {images via}

I know I've been talking about this for what seems like forever, but we are FINALLY getting
ready to pack things up and start on our renovation. I am scouring Pinterest like it's my
job for inspiration to help give our designer an idea of the direction we want to go in.
Clearly I'm a little crazy over gold accents. My husband is not so on board with this idea
but I just love it! I'm thinking if we just do gold hardware in the powder room then it
won't be too overpowering.

So what are your thoughts on gold accents?
Timeless or just a trend?

Zucchini Lasagna

For those questioning, I am a MAJOR pasta fan so by no means does this
mean I have cut carbs out. I'd rather sell my right arm then give up bread.
For real.

Ok back to the post. This recipe came about from literally having nothing in the house but
turkey meat, zucchini, and sauce. Truth be told I could live on cheese and bread so I always have various cheeses on hand. I wasn't in the mood for meatloaf, meatballs, or anything of the sort, so I figured why the hell not! Now if you are OCD like me and don't own a mandolin the non-perfect slices of zucchini might drive you mad but I powered thru it! I tried my damnedest to perfect my knife skills and getting my Bobby Flay on.

Inspired by: Patterned Tiles

As I've mentioned...we are getting ready to embark on a MAJOR
renovation on our home, which I am beyond excited about! I've collected
files upon files of all different design elements that I love and am inspired by.
An element that has really caught my indecisive eye are patterned tiles. I'm feeling
like I want to incorporate them somewhere in the guest bathroom to kick it up a notch.

Sidenote: If you haven't insta-stalked the hell out of @ihavethisthingwithfloors and you are a fan
of patterned tiles, you too will be obsessed!

Inspo: Horns + Antlers

After our trip to Mexico where we saw absolutely amazing wrapped bull horns and heads,
I have been collecting tons of inspiration! I fell in LOVE with this one and haven't been able to get it out of my head! The good news is I've found some that are 1/4 of the price and definitely fill that void. This spring we will begin our major renovation and I'm chomping at the bit! I can hardly wait to start the process and will share more along the way.

Here are some of my favorite heads, horns and antlers that I have found on the interwebs:
