Winning In Winter White

Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Target via Mode Media.  The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions or positions of Target.

Look 1: Phillip Lim x Target Sweater  //   Mossimo Jeans  //  Zara Boots  //  Vintage Gucci Bag
Look 2: Merona Sweater  //  Asos Trousers  //  Louboutin Heels  //  Chanel Bag
Look 3: 1. Mossimo Coat  //  2. Mossimo T-Shirt  //  3. Merona Fedora  //  4. Faryl Robin Loafers  //  5. Merona Crossbody Bag  //  6. Mossimo Jeans

The age old question…Is it ok to wear white in the winter?
My answer is always yes, yes, yes.  This rule is definitely a thing
of the past! Pairing a pair of white denim jeans with a beautiful knee high
boot, pair of sneakers or pointy toe pumps, are the perfect transitional combos
to take you from summer right into winter. I also love pairing them with a
tee or big chunky sweater. The options are endless!

For my last post with Target, they've asked me to create 3 different looks
that make wearing white in winter a win! Transitioning this color to make
it more winter friendly just takes some creativity using pieces you already own.
Here's my take on making it work all year round!

Tell me, how do you wear white in winter?

The Boo Challenge

Mossimo Shirt  //  Mossimo Jeans  //  Rag & Bone Boots  // Sole Society Bag  //  Celine Shades  //  Angels + Emeralds Necklace

For my second to last collaboration with Target, I took on "the Boo Challenge," where I had to have my boo style a head to toe look for me! We always have so much fun perusing the mall together so I was definitely looking forward to this challenge. Jared has a pretty good grasp on my personal style (and he knows I have an aversion to color), so I had total confidence knowing that he'd pick something pretty close to what I would pick for myself. I have to say that as we cruised thru the women's department at Target, he definitely hovered over a few pieces that made me sweat just a little! But in the end, I was up for the challenge and certainly happy with what he ended up with.

Here are a few questions that Jared answered about this look!

How would you describe my style?
I would say your style is pretty versatile. It can be edgy, feminine, casual, sexy and chic.

What made you choose these pieces for me?
One of my favorite looks is when you are in just jeans and a t-shirt. So naturally, that was the first thing I pictured for this challenge. I know how you don't like bright colors so I stuck to pretty simple and muted choices.

How do you feel about the final look you put together?
I'm pretty happy with how this look turned out actually. It was a great mix of all the things I love to see you in.

Packing Preview

1  //  2  //  3  //  4  //  5  //  6  //  7  //  8

The holidays are upon us and I've teamed up with Target once again to show you a little packing preview on what to bring home for the holidays! Now we all know that the holidays mean parties, friends, family and LOTS of eating :). Sooo…I don't know about you but looking my best and making sure I have that holiday glow is what I strive for! For the beauty edition of this preview I'm showing you my 5 key items that are must have's and 3 beauty accessories to help give that holiday glow!

It's important for me to have things that keep the skin and lips hydrated since the winter months are so drying on the skin. Once the stage is set, a little foundation, bronzer and mascara are all I need to get my holiday glow on! Less is more when you are traveling, don't you agree?

What are your holiday beauty must haves?

6 Month Salvation

Mossimo Vest  via Target  //  Vigoss Denim (similar pair here)  //  Alexander Wang Backpack  //  Ray Ban Sunnies

I'm back reviving another piece from the old closet! You might remember
the last time I did the 6 month salvation with Target here. Well, this time I
decided to pull out one of my most favorite pair of ultra flared denim. They
were a go to piece for me but ever since I got pregnant I wasn't able to wear
them much! So I'm happy to be giving them new life with these 3 looks..

Look One: For the first look I went with an edgy chic vibe and paired my
most favorite moto vest with a leather backpack and a basic tank. A vest is
such an easy way to add some dimension to an otherwise basic look!

Merona Shirt via Target  //  Vigoss Denim (similar pair here)  //  Zara Boots

Look Two: For the second look I wanted to show the versatility of the pants.
Now that fall is here it's time to break out the OTK boots. Just because these
jeans are flared, doesn't mean you can't do the tuck and roll into a sweet
pair of boots. Tie a crisp white button up at the waist, pop your collar and
go!

Mossimo Shirt via Target //  Vigoss Denim (similar pair here)  //  Celine Sunnies  //  BaubleBar Earrings

Look Three: For the final look I went with my ever so trusty denim on denim! You
really can't go wrong with a denim pairing. The only thing I like to do is make sure
that the shades of denim are slightly different to add some dimension. To finish the look,
I added a perfect pair of statement earrings!

This really is one of my favorite challenges because it allows me to really
reinvent old pieces and create fun and exciting outfits! Think about how much
mileage you can get out of one old piece when you add fresh new pieces to it.

6 Month Salvation

Mossimo Sweater  //  Similar Jumpsuit here  //  Similar Heels here  //  Ray Ban Shades

I don't know about you but sometimes picking out an outfit can be a daunting
task. I always find myself standing in my closet saying "I have nothing to
wear!" But the truth is, what about all of those pieces that sit unworn screaming
to be remixed with new pieces? Well, for my second post with Target this month,
I'm pulling from the old stock and remixing it to feel like new!

This jumpsuit has been sitting in my closet for 6 months lonely and unworn!
So I decided to make it fresh and new with some key pieces that I've purchased
at Target in the last couple months.

Look One: I added this oversized cozy sweater over the jumpsuit and a pop of
red from the heels for a fun fall look. You can wear this for a meeting or for
a night on the town!

Mossimo Denim Shirt  //  Similar Jumpsuit Here  //  Christian Louboutin Heels  //  Celine Shades

Look 2:  For the second look, I grabbed my favorite denim shirt kept it unbuttoned
and tied it in the front. Just add some pointy toe heels for the perfect edgy look!

Merona Shirt  //  Similar Jumpsuit Here  //  Mossimo Slip Ons  //  Cynthia Rowley Shades

Look 3: For a casual but fun daytime look, I added a plaid shirt over the jumper
and these quilted slip on sneakers. Doesn't get any easier than that!

Remixing old pieces in your closet can be such a fun way to make you feel
like you've just gone shopping in your own closet!

Dark vs. Light

Dark Denim: Mossimo Denim Shirt, Mossimo Jeans, Joie Sandals
Light Denim: Topshop Sweater, Mossimo Jeans, Converse Sneakers

Dressing denim up or down is something I'm a HUGE
fan of, so playing around with light and dark denim hues
just gives so many endless options! First let me start by saying
that these are thee BEST jeans and they are less than $30!
I mean….you're welcome for the heads up (Oh and these too!).

When I think of a dressed down casual look I reach for my comfy
sneakers and an oversized sweater. It really doesn't get much simpler than
that! And when I want to dress my denim up I always add a chic pair of heels
and in this case I added a denim shirt for a contrasting denim on denim vibe.
Add a statement necklace or earrings and your look is complete!

How do you dress your light and dark denim?

Distressed Boyfriends

Mossimo Jeans via Target  //  HM Top (similar one on sale here!)  //  BaubleBar Necklace  //  Zara Heels (similar here)  //  Ray Ban Sunnies

I'm a denim girl all the way.
They make the most sense to me and make me feel
like myself the second I slip a pair on. They can be dressed
up, dressed down, edgy, elegant, cool, or just plain comfortable.
I know you all agree with me, don't you?! I thought so. One of my
favorite kind of denim to wear is distressed denim. I like the edgy rough
vibe that they put out and I love that I can take a blouse and necklace
and totally add a feminine touch to them. When I spotted this pair at Target
I immediately wanted to pair them with a big statement necklace and a delicate
pair of sandals! One of my favorite looks.

The thing about denim is that there are no limits and no rules!
You can pair just about anything you want with them and still manage
to look put together and ready for whatever you've got planned!

Summer Shorts

Merona Shorts via Target  //  Mossimo Denim Shirt via Target  //
Button up  //  Heels  //  Flat Sandals  //  Shades

I've said it before and I'll say it again....
Having one main piece that you can dress up or down is
key! The "subject" in this post I want to talk about is these fab
baby blue shorts. They are perfect for summer, easy to pair,
and best part? Less than $20! WOOOOOHOOO. Here's how
I would dress them up and down but I have to say, the monochromatic
"dressed up" look is my personal fave because I love working with a good
denim shirt. Which way would you go?

One Dress. Three Ways.

Look 1: Mossimo Dress via Target  //  BB Dakota Vest  //  Zara Wedges  //  Ray Ban Sunnies
Look 2: Mossimo Dress via Target  //  Zara Flannel & Sneakers  //  Hat  //  Ray Ban Sunnies
Look 3: Mossimo Dress via Target  //  Oia Jules Necklace  //  Louboutin Heels  //  Ray Ban Sunnies

When you're 9 months pregnant, cotton and spandex are your BFF's.
Like, for real. So for this post with Target, I immediately gravitated
towards a comfy bodycon tank dress that would be easy to throw on
and dress 3 ways. This dress was especially perfect because I was able
to dress it up for evening, dress it down for everyday, and dress it
for everything in between :). When you have one key piece it's so
much easier to just add a vest, shirt, or accessories to make your look
special! Don't you just love versatile pieces? I do!

The Weekender

1  //  2  //  3  //  4  //  5  //  6

In my mind, Summer is all about weekend getaways, beach trips, bbq's with
friends, swimming like a mermaid and living it up! For me, this Summer
will also include a trip to the hospital to bring a little human into the world!
And for all of these things a weekender bag to hold all of your necessities is
crucial. So of course I went to my "go to" happy place...Target! I ordered
the Camo one to use as my hospital bag which could not be more perfect, and
bonus it will make a great beach bag afterwards!

Tie Dye

Mossimo Dress via Target  //  Ray Ban Shades  //  Denim Shirt  //  Omelle Heels

I have to say, dressing has become a bit more challenging these days
but I'm trying my best to stay true to my personal style! Dresses are my best
friend and no brainer at this point. I literally can just throw one on and not have to
worry about it not fitting! And let me tell you, I'm beyond happy that it's dress weather
cause I can't imagine wearing pants all the time. I picked up this fun dress at Target and
the best part about it is that I can dress it up, just lounge in it or wear it to the pool! 3 for 1?
SCORE. Here I tied a little knot in the front to give it a little personal touch and also to hike
up the hem line a bit. It lengthened the legs a little with the heels! Always a plus.

Bandeau Bikini

Target Bandeau Top c/o  //  Target Bottoms c/o //  Target Hat c/o  //  Ray Ban Sunnies  //  Zara Cover

I must say getting into a bathing suit when you are 7 months pregnant can
be rather intimidating and scary. I vacillated back and forth between totally covering up with a one piece plus a cover up or rocking a bikini and showing the bump! Obviously I went with the bikini because it felt like me and I truly felt comfortable and beautiful in it....but let's be honest, this sweet bikini made it so easy! Just throwing on a little cover up over it and topping it off with a hat definitely helped too :). And it was definitely proof that trying on swimsuits wasn't as scary as I anticipated it to be.  The top is what had me at hello and it's definitely something I've seen for over $100, so I
was obviously stoked when I found it at Target for under $20. I mean, it was a total no brainer!

The hubs and I are taking a little baby moon by the beach soon so I definitely
will be heading back to pick up another swimsuit to join this one!
