Friday we headed down to the Marina to stay with our dear friends and let's just say there was not a shortage of fun, food, and booze. Apparently I think I can party like it's 1999, but I learned over the course of a lovely evening that's definitely not the case. Oy! But any weekend spent with friends and family is a weekend well spent!

Dream Sequins

 It's been a bit of a tough week over here at FHF but I tell you, there is something about sequins that has a way of turning your downer of a frowner into the best of uppers! Not sure I made any sense at all but you know what I mean. Glitter and sequins never lets you down and always seems to be an instant game changer. Perhaps it's time for me to add some more into my vida? I think so!

Happy hump day...half way to Friday dolls! Woot.

Blush Fringe

After the amazing weather we had on Saturday, Sunday turned out to be a pretty gloomy weather day. But that certainly did not stop me from throwing on my Joie Rock Steady fringe wedges and painting the town blush pink! I must say that I have NEVER (the caps mean bizz-nasss) been a pink kind of gal, but it's been growing on me like fungus....slow and steady. I used to not be able to stand the sight of it, but I now find myself seeking it out....stranger things have happened, but I never saw this one coming. I think this is the start of a successful budding relationship, unless of course pink finds a way to do me wrong. Then...she will be cut. Was that too harsh? Ok, pink....I. like. you.

Weekend Diary....

Last year at this time we were making our rounds on what I liked to call the "wedding circuit". This year we are singing a bit of a different tune called the year of the "dirty thirty"...the circuit is in full swing! We spent Saturday celebrating at Malibu Wines and had an absolute blast...nothing better than good wine and good friends celebrating together!

 For many moons denim on denim was only something that my dad wore and something that I most certainly would not be caught dead in. These days it's a bit of a different story...a story which now finds me with a stomach full of my own words! And...I am not in the least bit embarrassed to admit that I have been rocking this equipment shirt for the last 3 days straight (I know, ew) but it has now become my "go to" shirt. I'm officially in love. The end.

In the spirit of yesterday's post and the fact that I received quite a few inquires/comments stating the love/need for a military-esque top layer, I was inspired to hunt for some cool worthy pieces!

Pairing this style jacket with a light and fun piece is key for me, so I layered it on top of a polka dot printed silk tank to soften the look a bit. An edgy jacket thrown over a feminine blouse is a look that I absolutely adore not only because it looks casual yet chic, but it has a way of providing a good balance between the two styles.

Saturday the hubs and I headed down to the South Bay for one of my nearest and dearest 30th birthdays! Despite the cold front that was happening, it was such a delight to see so many faces that I don't get to see on the reg. I was planning on wearing none other than a maxi, but that plan got scrapped when I realized I would freeze my arse off in a dress. Enter...the always trusted and ever reliable Military jacket. I've had this baby for 6 years and it hasn't done me wrong yet. I think it's pretty safe to say that he's a sure thing...such a rarity these days, right? I kid. I kid. Kinda.
