Layer Inspiration

1. Thakoon   2. Joie   3. Topshop   4. American Vintage   5. Kirna Zabete   6. Topshop

In the spirit of yesterday's post and the fact that I received quite a few inquires/comments stating the love/need for a military-esque top layer, I was inspired to hunt for some cool worthy pieces!
Pairing this style jacket with a light and fun piece is key for me, so I layered it on top of a polka dot printed silk tank to soften the look a bit. An edgy jacket thrown over a feminine blouse is a look that I absolutely adore not only because it looks casual yet chic, but it has a way of providing a good balance between the two styles.

Do you like mixing edgier pieces with flirty and feminine pieces?

N

You are truly a mix master!
Love mixing things up...feminine is always better with edgy!
And I'll take one of each please.
Thank you.

I have been swooning over that E&J jacket for so long! Such amazing structure & it's so polished for being a military jacket! Also love the first tank - fuchsia & olive pair sooo well together! Gorg!

This is motivational and inspirational for me because I am so scared of military styles! Thank you! :)

Hi, nice to meet you, saw you on Mary Jos blog and loved your outift. The Gryphon one is so cool, just enough sequins. Always love their stuff but sometimes too unconstructed for me to wear.

Gotta love a mix of pretty and masculine. I have been trying to figure out how to wear tops like the Joie one. Do we just let the bra hang out for everyone to see? Those shirts confuse me lol.

Yes! I love mixing casual and dressier pieces, and I love this idea. I'm going to try my jacket that's similar to the ones you've pictured with some of my more feminine blouses. Thanks!

You are a genius at layering. I like doing the soft with soft look and the soft and edgy look too. Just to keep it interesting.
